Franklin Calvin, 74, of Abilene died Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Exodus Metropolitan Community Church in Abilene, Texas.

Franklin was born July 8, 1948 to the late Flora L. Calhoun and Clifford C. Radney, Sr. Franklin received his education in the New York City School System. He earned his diploma from George W. Wingate High School. A few years later Franklin went on to the United States Navy.

After an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, he then relocated to California. While living in California, he met Frank Zerilli in 1978 and they fell in love, on July 25, 2005, they became one. Franklin was an active member of Exodus Metropolitan Community Church.

Franklin was preceded in death by his husband, Frank Zerilli; mother, Flora L. Calhoun; step-father, William F. Calhoun; sister, Linda D. Calhoun-Jefferson; brother-in-law, Thomas L. Jordan; father, Clifford Radney, Sr. He is survived by his cherished canine children, Rosie and Chester; three sisters, Denise Jordan, Christine Calhoun and Yolanda Kimble; one brother, Clifford Radney, Jr.(Erica); sister-in-law, Gail Hanley; five nephews, Demencio (Zakiyyah), Maurice (Rita), Corey, Demencio, Jr., and Maurice, Jr.; three nieces, Crystal(Justin), Addison and Javen; step-siblings, Mary, Jacqueline, Lee, Steve and D’Andre. A very special friend Pastor Connie Mangin; and a host of other relatives, special friends and church family (MCC) whose relationships enriched his life.
